YOUR ACTIVITIES AT
BAJA RANCHO LA BELLOTA

LA BELLOTA TRAIL RIDES

If you enjoy the outdoors and exploring the land by horseback, Baja Rancho
La Bellota is just the place you are looking for.  We provide exciting horseback
riding excursions throughout the mountains of La Bellota, overnight trips and
day trips with different trail rides for all levels of riders.  We also provide one
on one riding instruction if needed.

REAL DEL CASTILLO RIDE

In 1872,  there was a gold strike in the mountains just 30 miles east of
Ensenada in the small mining town of Real Del Castillo.   This stimulated
drastic changes to all of Baja California.  Transportation ways were soon
established and mining equipment was brought in from San Francisco.
Because of this sudden economic growth,  Real Del Castillo soon became a
seat of government and the capitol of Baja California.
Today, the small mining town of Real Del Castillo still exists.  The adobe ruins
transport you into the past, providing a glimpse of what life was like so many
years ago.
This is a full days ride (10 hours) over historic and pristine lands.  It is perfect
for those of you who are interested in Baja California History and for those of
you who just like to get out there and ride!
Our starting point is Rancho Real Del Castillo where you will be served a
hearty Mexican breakfast and lunch on the trail.  Dinner, showers and comfy
beds will be waiting for you when you arrive at Rancho La Bellota.
If you are interested in this ride or have any questions at all please email us
and we will be happy to answer them.

WINERY RIDE- DONA LUPE

"Welcome home" is the theme for the Casa de Dona Lupe, an organic winery
in Baja's wine region of the Guadalupe Valley, Mexico.
"Welcome home" meaning, welcome back to nature, our natural heritage and
to the warmth of friends and sincerity.  Come ride with us to "Casa de Dona
Lupe" and step back in time to a place of traditional values, loving hospitality
of real people and enjoy healthy natural food and organic wine.
If you wish to have lunch at the winery the cost is $15.00 dlls per plate, and
that's including two bottles of wine.

THE VENADO TRAIL

This is La Bellota's version of extreme trail riding for advanced and strong
intermediate riders!   Our destination on the Venado Trail is to the highest
peak on the ranch property and into the habitat of a thriving deer
population.
The ride to the top is an experience you aren't likely to forget and you will be
amazed at your sure footed mounts and what the horse can really do! The
views are breathtaking and each step your horse takes as you climb higher
and higher, is an exhilarating step farther into a timeless landscape and
serene world of the magnificent animals that dwell there.

THE TAMALE TRAIL RIDE

This is a relaxed and scenic 4 hour trail ride perfect for all levels of riders.
Take in the view as we ride around the mountains of La Bellota and over the

shady oaks.

THE SAN MARCOS HOT SPRINGS RIDE

This is an all day ride perfect for intermediate and advanced riders.  We leave
Rancho La Bellota where our loop begins as we make our way around the
neighboring valley of San Marcos.   You will ride on mountain tops, with
spectacular views from every direction, through quiet oak groves, a palm tree
oasis and wide open spaces.  We will enjoy a traditional cowboy lunch on the
trail with dinner waiting for us upon our return to La Bellota in the late
afternoon. There's nothing like a delicious home cooked meal and comfy beds
to welcome us home after a long day on the trail!

JAIME'S VINEYARDS
