NEWSLETTER APRIL´10

   Greetings everyone and Happy Spring!
Here at Rancho La Bellota we started our Spring season in mid February and have been rolling right along since then.  Back in December of 2009 we planted 100 acres of oats, thanks to “Old Blue” our tractor.  This was a great way to end out the year especially with all the rain we have been having lately, the oats are growing fast.  Besides that we also have paid off the ranch and that folks, is a huge relief.

We have an up and coming event on May 12-16, the Gold Mine Ride to Real Del Castillo which at one time was a prosperous mining town and the capital of Baja California back in 1876.  This is a five day trip and a real step back in time as we explore the area of Real Del Castillo, the old mines and you will see tons of artifacts that have been found over the years.  Just a hint of what you will experience as you step back in time and into Baja’s vibrant past.  If you would like more information please email us and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

On Sunday, May 23rd is the annual Dia Del Caballo Festival, “Day of the horse”.  This is a beautiful  celebration which commemorates the horse, art and wine.   The day is filled with exhibitions of different breeds and their special qualities.  There will exhibitions of barrel racing,  the Mexican Escaramusa, an all girl drill team on horseback in gorgeous Mexican dresses, and the Spanish Andalusians  just to name a few.   There will be art exhibits, food and wine.  This is a beautiful event!
Rancho La Bellota is offering a weekend stay from Saturday to Monday morning for $225.00.  This includes all meals at La Bellota, accommodations, transportation to the Dia Del Caballo and your entry to Dia Del Caballo. Food at this event is not included.  Arrival to La Bellota is anytime Saturday, May 22nd, we spend the day at Dia Del Caballo on Sunday, May 23rd and departure from La Bellota is Monday, May 24th.
