Hello Everyone,
I regret to say it’s been a while since I last updated our news letter page, but this doesn’t mean nothing is happening at the ranch these days. Actually, a lot has been going on, so I wanted to take the opportunity to bring you all up to date on news at Rancho La Bellota.
After an eventful quail hunting season, which started in October, and ended in January, we’re gearing up once again for the spring which promises to be equally eventful!
We’ve had excellent rainfall so far, which means the land is turning green, and we’re very thankful for that. Now that Raul has finished plowing the oat fields, and the rain has soaked in, we’re already seeing the tiny sprouts popping up out of the earth. He planted 90 acres of fields, and Old Blue, his mighty tractor, did a great job of it too.
We’re also staring something new. Are you n
ot surprised? In March, Raul and I will be leading our first Cultural Adventure Tour group (in an SUV of course, not on horseback), as we travel down the peninsula where we will be exploring and visiting, missions, and cave paintings including the famous mule trip in the Sierra de San Fransisco. We’ll also visit the whales at their winter habitat in Laguna San Ignacio.
We’ve done this trip many times, since Ricky and Christine were babies, and it’s exciting for us to start this as another outlet of activities at Rancho La Bellota.
We’ll be posting pictures, and information of our excursions into the wilds of Baja on Rancho La Bellota Facebook as we go, so anyone who wants too, can follow along with us!
Other than that, all is well at Rancho La Bellota. We’re looking forward to 2013, and as the new year gets underway, feelings of optimism, and good cheer are in the air, as we embark on yet another year of work, meeting interesting new people from all walks of life, and welcoming home, those who will be returning again.
We’re also looking forward to the many horseback rides, great adventures, and terrific company from all of those who will visit us, and we hope all of you are just as optimistic for the year ahead. With that said, we’d like to wish you a most wonderful and prosperous new year.
Our warmest regards to all of you,
Raul and Caroline Aguiar
